Spring Bucket List Ideas For Families
Even though it’s early February Dallas is getting some spring like weather. So of course I am thinking of much warmer days and patio weather. With that, my wheels are turning with all the things I want to do with my kids as the weather gets warmer. We made a little list so I thought I would share a list of pretty generalized spring bucket list ideas for families. These are things you can do MOST anywhere!
Spring Bucket List Ideas For Families
- Go on a picnic: Such a fun and easy activity you can even do in your own yard!
- Walk around a lake: We are lucky enough to have a few lakes nearby and we love to go walk at them.
- Visit a botanical garden: We are members of our local botanical garden and visit often.
- Visit a splash pad: Obviously, this is a late spring activity but once it’s warm enough it’s such a great thing to do.
- Try 5 new parks: Pretty easy one to check off. Find some local parks and visit! Dallas got a new park that glows in the dark at night- dying to take my kids.
- Make a sidewalk chalk mural: The $1 store usually has containers of chalk for a dollar and you can let your kids go nuts!
- Visit a new kid-friendly restaurant: It’s so much fun to go out to eat and if you live somewhere with good weather and outside areas for kids its a great family activity.
- Go on a nature walk: Liam especially loves to pick out rocks, sticks, and leaves, and point out different things in nature.
- Get a caterpillar kit: We’ve done this every year and it’s SUCH a huge hit with my kids. Then we take the butterflies somewhere fun and let them go!
- Plant a garden: Veggie or flowers this is a fun and easy one to get the entire family involved with!

We love to go to the various parks and see the flower displays in the spring. We also have the Annual International Lilac Festival here in Rochester for almost 2 weeks, around Mother’s Day. Thanks for the ideas of things to add to our Spring Bucket List!
